Mainly
but not entirely Highland Scots. In 1803 this Regiment took men recruited for
the Army of Reserve from counties of Highland Scotland. UNDER
‘The Additional Forces Act 1804’, men raised for limited service, were
recruited into specific regiments the 42nd took further recruits
from Ross, Cromarty, Sutherland and Caithness.
1st & 2nd battalions 43rd

Foot. Appear to be mainly Irish, with some Scots and English. However UNDER
‘The Additional Forces Act 1804’, men raised for limited service were recruited
into specific regiments the 45th Regiment of Foot took men from the
counties of Nottingham and Rutland.

battalion 46th (South Devonshire) Regiment of Foot. The men appear
to be mainly Irish & Welsh with some Scots & English.

England supplied many of the men for this regiment, which also had many men

Waggon Train. The date on this return has been changed to 26th June
1810 and it appears that those serving before June 1806 and had subsequently
left the regiment before 1810 have not been recorded. They appear to be a
mixture of all four countries.
