26th (Cameronians) Regiment of Foot, 1st & 2nd battalions; this Regiment took men of the Army of Reserve 1803 from the counties of Ayr, Berwick, Bute, Dumfries, Edinburgh, Haddington, Kirkcudbright, Lanark, Linlithgow, Peebles, Renfrew, Roxburgh, Selkirk. Stirling & Wigton and the town of Berwick on Tweed; UNDER ‘The Additional Forces Act 1804’, men raised for limited service were recruited into specific regiments the 26th Regiment of Foot took men from Edinburgh City & County, Linlithgow, Peebles, Berwickshire & Haddington.

 27th (Inniskilling) Regiment of Foot, 1st & 2nd battalions; UNDER ‘The Additional Forces Act 1804’, men raised for limited service were recruited into specific regiments the 27th Regiment of Foot took men from Fermanagh, Monaghan, Armagh & Down;

1st battalion 29th (Worcestershire) Regiment of Foot;

1st & 2nd battalions 30th (Cambridgeshire) Regiment of Foot. This regiment took men for the Army of Reserve 1803 –1806 from the counties of Bedford, Buckingham, Cambridge, Hertford, Huntingdon, Leicester, Northampton & Oxford. UNDER ‘The Additional Forces Act 1804’ further men raised for limited service were recruited into the 30th Regiment of Foot from the counties of Huntingdon, Leicester & Cambridge.

1st battalion 31st (Huntingdonshire) Regiment of Foot. UNDER ‘The Additional Forces Act 1804’ this regiment took men raised for limited service from the county of Cheshire.

1st & 2nd battalions 32nd (Duke of Cornwall’s Light Infantry) Regiment. UNDER ‘The Additional Forces Act 1804’ this regiment took men enlisting for limited service from the County of Cornwall.

1st battalion 33rd (1st Yorkshire West Riding) Regiment of Foot;

1st & 2nd battalions 34th (Cumberland) Regiment of Foot; the 2nd battalion in 1805 took men from various Militia Regiments including Yorkshire, South Essex, South Lincolnshire & Royal Bucks.

1st & 2nd battalion 35th (Sussex from 1805) Regiment of Foot; this Regiment took men from a number of Militia Regiments including over 400 from Sussex, and over 100 from both South Gloucestershire and Dorset, with lesser amount from various Monmouth & Brecon & Oxford among others.

1st & 2nd battalions 36th (Herefordshire) Regiment of Foot; the majority of 1st battalion were men from various Militia regiments including Lancashire, Monmouth, Montgomery, Shropshire, Surrey, Westminster, Worcester and later Anglesey, Antrim, Carlow, Cumberland, Essex, North Lincoln, Staffordshire, Suffolk, Warwickshire, Westmoreland & 3rd West Yorkshire. UNDER ‘The Additional Forces Act 1804’, men raised for limited service were recruited into specific regiments the 36th Regiment of Foot took men from Durham.

1st battalion 37th (North Hampshire) Regiment of Foot; 

1st & 2nd battalions 38th (1st Staffordshire) Regiment of Foot; UNDER ‘The Additional Forces Act 1804’, men raised for limited service were recruited into specific regiments the 38th Regiment of Foot took men from Staffordshire.

1st & 2nd battalions 39th [East Middlesex (from 1807 became Dorsetshire)] Regiment of Foot. This regiment took men from for the Army of Reserve from Cheshire, Shropshire, Warwickshire & Worcestershire; UNDER ‘The Additional Forces Act 1804’, men raised for limited service were recruited into specific regiments the 39th Regiment of Foot took further recruits from Shropshire.

1st  & 2nd battalion 40th (2nd Somerset) Regiment of Foot UNDER ‘The Additional Forces Act 1804’, men raised for limited service, were recruited into specific regiments, the 40th took recruits from Dorset and Somerset. Some recruits also came from Europe.

 

1st battalion 41st (The Welsh) Regiment of Foot.

 

1st  & 2nd battalion 42nd (Royal Highland) Regiment of Foot

Mainly but not entirely Highland Scots. In 1803 this Regiment took men recruited for the Army of Reserve from counties of Highland Scotland. UNDER ‘The Additional Forces Act 1804’, men raised for limited service, were recruited into specific regiments the 42nd took further recruits from Ross, Cromarty, Sutherland and Caithness.

 

1st & 2nd battalions 43rd (Monmouthshire) Regiment of Foot.  UNDER ‘The Additional Forces Act 1804’, men raised for limited service, were recruited into specific regiments the 43rd took recruits from Worcester.

1st & 2nd battalions 44th (East Essex) Regiment of Foot. This regiment took men raised for the Army of Reserve 1803 from the counties of Kildare, Wicklow, Carlow, Westmeath, King’s County & Queen’s County

1st & 2nd battalions 45th (Nottinghamshire) Regiment of Foot. Appear to be mainly Irish, with some Scots and English. However UNDER ‘The Additional Forces Act 1804’, men raised for limited service were recruited into specific regiments the 45th Regiment of Foot took men from the counties of Nottingham and Rutland.

1st battalion 46th (South Devonshire) Regiment of Foot. The men appear to be mainly Irish & Welsh with some Scots & English.

Latest Volume 21 WO25/874 & 908 (4,632 names)

1st, 2nd & 3rd battalions 1st Foot Guards. England supplied many of the men for this regiment, which also had many men from Wales & Scotland, but with fewer men from Ireland. Royal Waggon Train. The date on this return has been changed to 26th June 1810 and it appears that those serving before June 1806 and had subsequently left the regiment before 1810 have not been recorded. They appear to be a mixture of all four countries.
