For
your own individually designed quilt it is best to allow about 5
weeks for making
up, once we have agreed on the final design and fabric choice.
All new materials are used throughout - unless you would like me to include some
of your own fabrics. A typical quilt would be made from easy-care poly-cotton
with a low allergy polyester wadding. This would be an ideal summer weight on
it's own, but it makes a stunning coverall during the winter.
If you are tempted to create a quilt designed just for you, you should look around
your home for colours you enjoy living with. Mix this with a theme - contemporary,
nostalgic, bold, peaceful. . . Then you are ready to begin!
Please contact me by telephone or e-mail so that I can begin imagining a quilt
that will work with your personality. We will talk about the colours you adore,
influences on design and life style. Then we can build a picture of the best
way forwards. From our conversation I will go through my fabric stock and pull
out several fabrics that bring your ideas together, then build a sketch around
the design. These can be photographed and mailed or e-mailed to you. When the
design has been adapted to your taste, and fabrics settled on, the work can begin.
A large quilt could take around five weeks to make. I will happily mail them
anywhere in the world, insured postage. If you cannot see just what you want,
then e-mail me with a suggestion or a picture and I will get back to you with
a price. |
